Beginning life in Cambridge, U.K. 2015 Broken Machine was finally completed in Canterbury during 2017.

Machines used throughout included a Marantz CP-430, Superscope C-205, Formanta Polivox, MFOS mini-synth and Sequencer10, Moog Prodigy, Hsinghai Upright piano, Roland TR-66 Rhythm Arranger, Roland CR-5000 CompuRythm, Boss Dr Rhythm, WEM Copicat, Ibanez Echo Shifter, Sure SM58 and SM57's and a smattering of radio.

Field recordings were made in and around Canterbury, Cambridge, New York and London on two old cassette recorders, one in a state of half death that squealed idiosyncratically as it's aged belts and levers struggled with the mechanical effort required of their industry and the other, an old warhorse designed for the task at hand, whirred away without complaint but for a Sony ECM-99, whilst brilliant in a static position, would transmit any movement of its cabling like a tin can telephone.

released June 1, 2018

Various people who deserve a mention are as follows: Paula McCallan-Moore, Susie Hart, Virginia Pitts who has kept me away from the flames, Yves Roussel, Marién Garcia, Jesus Agnew, Sabine Steldinger. The independent record shops in Canterbury and Cambridge who give time to my banter, especially Jim at Canterbury Rock, Nick at Vinylstore Jr, Black Barn Records and Relevant Records Cambridge. And finally you, whoever you are, for reading this.

Mastered by Yves Roussel.
Lacquer disk mastering by J. I. Agnew at Magnetic fidelity.
Pressed at Pallas-Group.
